Stevenson 10 McAuley 6 (GIRLS)

Stevenson outlasted Mother McAuley 10-6 on Tuesday night behind 4 goals from Terri Bukofzer. Aubrey Wanland added two scores while Rebecca Shopiro, Jesse Shopiro, Sally Heideman, and Megan Pagano each tallied one goal for the Patriots.

The Macs were led by Maggie Wood's two scores, while Lily Cortez, Laura Perez, Lily Gonzalez and Amy Jackson all scored once in the loss.

Stevenson jumped out to a 2-0 lead and led 3-1 late in the second period, but back-to-back goals by the Mighty Macs evened the score at halftime. The Patriots owned the third quarter, as Heideman, Bukofzer, and Rebecca Shopiro scored to make the lead 6-3 heading to the final frame. After quick g goals by Wanland and Bukofzer made the score 8-3, Wood scored then assisted Lily Cortez on a powerplay goal to cut the Patriots' advantage to 8-5. Wood then scored after a steal to get the Mighty Macs to within 8-6, but a steal and backhand goal by Bukofzer and a counterattack goal by Jesse Shopiro clinched a 10-6 victory for Stevenson.
